In 2007, the first group of students was admitted to an operating room nursing associate’s program, and in 2014, necessary approval was obtained to launch an operating room nursing bachelor’s program and the first group of students was admitted to the program in October of the same year.

Until the next 10 years, the graduates are expected to be trained in line with the rapid development of surgical techniques and robotic and minimally invasive surgeries according to the standards of the Association of Surgical Technologists, and to define and stabilize their position in various fields of surgery.

1) Quantitative and qualitative empowerment of faculty members (including research-based and clinical ones);

2) Improving the level of education and evaluation of learners in theoretical, practical and clinical courses by using multiple methods of education and evaluation;

3) Quantitative and qualitative improvement of resources and infrastructure needed for teaching, research and scientific advancement of the Department;

4) Quantitative and qualitative improvement of research related to the scope of the Department and research priorities set by the Ministry of Health, Education and Treatment;

5) Quantitative and qualitative improvement of international relations with the aim of expanding the field of study, increasing the number of foreign students admitted, and generating revenues;

6) Revising courses in accordance with the most recent standards and content and the educational needs of society;

7) Examining the challenges (patient care, maintenance of equipment, ethics, patient safety, patient rights, patient privacy, occupational safety, mental-psychological problems of personnel, etc.) faced in the operating room and providing solutions for them;

8) Effective factors for education, motivation and satisfaction of lecturers and students; and

9) Solutions to improve the competencies of faculty member.

1) Determining the research priorities of the field with the collaboration of the Department;

2) Appropriate interaction of faculty members and students to promote their research procedures;

3) Providing advice to faculty members and students in the field of research and development of facilities and equipment needed to carry out research projects;

4) Needs assessment of research workshops and making necessary coordination with the University's Research & Technology Vice-Chancellor to hold them;

5) Providing facilities to use journals and academic reference books for faculty members and students;

6) Addressing the ethical aspects of research conducted by the School’s staff, lecturers and/or students;

7) Debriefing the research activities of faculty members such as articles, compilations, translation of books and sending to the Vice-Chancellor to be examined for the promotions and incentives;

8) Supervising and making coordination in holding congresses on the fields related to the School’s scope;

9) Codifying a written research evaluation program for faculty members of the Department; and

10) Supporting joint research projects that are profitable for the School and comply with the Department's research priorities.
